Archival fragments from Sultan Abdülhamid II’s imperial library reveal a curiosity from the gardens of the Ottoman court: a trend for imported Swiss-style chalets. Using architectural drawings in the Ottoman archives, we created model blueprints of the most popular designs and photographed them amidst bucolic greenery.
